Our counselors draw upon their professional training, formal education and unique experiences to address each client’s needs. They come from a wide variety of backgrounds and are committed to providing caring, biblically-based counseling. Meet our counselors!
Jenne Hibbs has 30 years of counseling experience. She graduated with a Master’s in Counseling from Gallaudet University. She has worked in long-term care as a social services director and helped found two counseling centers, one in New Jersey and Crossroads Counseling Center. Her counseling experience includes working with children, individuals, couples and families experiencing relationship issues, grief, depression, anxiety, codependency, addictions, self-esteem, abuse, parenting issues, spirituality issues, marriage issues, pre-marriage preparation & trauma.
“The idea of starting counseling can be scary; it takes courage to face difficult truths about our lives, but there is so much to gain by finding hope and healing. If you’re ready to begin that process I’d love to connect with you online by phone or video and work around your schedule!”
In her downtime, Jenne loves the beach, biking, hiking and spending time with her family.
Brittany Edie obtained her Master’s in Counseling from McDaniel College & completed a post-graduate certificate in Marriage & Family Therapy from Capella University.
Brittany has worked in public mental health since 2007 and joined the Crossroads Counseling team in 2016. She recognizes the importance of bringing Christ into the process of counseling and healing. Brittany has experience working with individuals & couples experiencing life transition / adjustment disorders, anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and relationship related issues. She also provides marriage and premarital counseling.
Additionally, Brittany completed Christian Yoga Teacher training through YogaFaith, and additional training in Trauma-Informed Yoga allowing her to approach therapy from a mind-body perspective.
“It is a privilege to walk alongside both individuals and couples through their sometimes-painful circumstances helping them find hope, healing, and joy through the process of transforming mind, body and soul.”
When Brittany’s husband James and her children don’t have her time and attention, she integrates mind-body approaches in therapy as a trained yoga teacher at Graceful Balance, co-leads a military small group and assists with marriage ministry at Crossroads as needed.
Bob Rooney received his Master’s of Christian Counseling from Capital Bible Seminary and completed additional coursework for Maryland certification as a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. He retired from Villa Maria Community Mental Health Clinic, a division of Catholic Charities, in 2015. Prior to Villa Maria he worked for CentrePointe Counseling and at Capital Bible Seminary as a mentor-trainer for students studying for future ministry occupations. Bob has experience working with children, teenagers and adults. He works with couples on conflict resolution and trust issues.
“I encourage couples to seek out counseling at the first sign of conflict since it’s been proven to result in a higher success rate in meeting relational goals.”
Bob and his wife Kay are active members of Crossroads Church where Bob volunteers as a small group leader and serves as a greeter. An avid golfer and motorcycle enthusiast, Bob missed using his counseling gifts in a therapy setting and chose to come out of retirement to join the counseling staff. His wife Kay supports that choice as long as it doesn’t interfere with grandparenting fun!
