A New Beginning Recovery Ministry – War, WV

A New Beginning Recovery Ministry is located in War, WV where nearly 80% of the residents struggle with alcohol and drug addiction. The ministry center is strategically located on the downtown Main Street and open 7 days a week to provide genuine hope and help for people dealing with addiction and those who love them. The ministry provides meals, Bible study and recovery meetings as well as practical resources to demonstrate the life-changing power of Jesus Christ. Crossroads provides the ministry with sustained financial and prayer support, sends teams to assist with construction and outreach events, and brings men and women who want to seek full-time residential help with recovery to Men of Standard and New Life for Girls in Carroll County. You can support the ministry by donating requested items, praying for the ministry, and joining us on a missions trip.

Capernaum – Carroll County, MD

Capernaum is a ministry that gives young people with intellectual and physical disabilities the chance to experience fun and adventure, to develop fulfilling friendships and to challenge their limits while building self-esteem through club, camp and other exciting activities. Crossroads provides ongoing leadership, volunteer support and practical resources to the ministry. Volunteers are always welcome to join our team and help with the club meeting, held the first Tuesday of every month at the Westminster campus, and bringing kids to camp each August.

Fellowship of Christian Athletes – Carroll County, MD

FCA is a ministry to local high school and college athletes. Crossroads missions provides FCA with ongoing financial and prayer support. If you enjoy spending time with teens and young adults and enjoy sports of any type local FCA is always looking for supporters and huddle leaders.

Good News Prison Ministry – Westminster, MD

The local Good News Prison Ministry chaplain and volunteers minister to the spiritual needs of inmates and staff at the Carroll County Detention Center through Bible studies, worship services and small group mentoring and discipleship. Crossroads provides ongoing financial support, prayer and practical resources to the ministry. Volunteers are always welcome to help the local chaplain.

Helping Up Mission – Baltimore, MD

Helping Up Mission (HUM) is a full-time residential Christian recovery and treatment center serving more than 450 men at a time in addition to nighttime drop-in guests. Crossroads missions provides HUM with ongoing financial and prayer support as well as partnering in distributing the ministry’s excess food through a food pipeline program across the County. Volunteers are welcome to receive training and serve through a one-time or ongoing basis.

Human Service Program of Carroll County – Westminster, MD

As the Carroll County community action agency HSP operates 17 different programs serving the needs of low-income families and individuals including assistance with shelter and housing, employment, and practical family support. Crossroads runs HSP’s Cold Weather Shelter every Tuesday and Wednesday night from November through March. Contact Steph Albright to learn more about and sign up to serve at the Cold Weather Shelter.

New Life for Girls

New Life for Girls is a comprehensive, residential program for women ages 18 and up (including mothers & children) who are struggling with problems such as drug and alcohol addiction, eating disorders, and sexual abuse issues. Crossroads provides ongoing financial and prayer support for the ministry and brings program residents on missions trips to War, WV. Volunteers are welcome to assist with regular Bible studies and events to encourage the residents and donate needed items.

Northeast Social Action Program (NESAP) – Hampstead, MD

NESAP supports individuals and families in crisis with practical help such as food, clothing, transportation, fuel and financial assistance for rent, utilities and minor medical bills. Crossroads provides ongoing leadership through Board of Directors’ membership as well as financial and practical support. Volunteers are always needed on a weekly, monthly or as-needed basis for a wide variety of serving opportunities.

Tender Care Pregnancy Center – Westminster, MD

Women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy can find a safe, non-judgmental place to receive medical care, emotional and practical support, as well as helpful resources at the Tender Care Pregnancy Center in downtown Westminster. Crossroads provides Tender Care with ongoing prayer as well as financial and practical support. Volunteers are needed to provide office and clerical help, maintenance, gardening and cleaning, sort baby clothes, special events staffing, youth outreach, and more.

YoungLife – Carroll County, MD

For more than 70 years YoungLife has lived out the belief that “every kid, everywhere” deserves to know about the radical, life-changing love that Christ has for them. YoungLife’s ministry in Carroll County runs 8 clubs providing middle school and high school students with real-life relationships with adults who care for them and opportunities to meet Jesus through weekly Bible studies, outreach meetings and summer camps. Crossroads provides ongoing financial and prayer support for YoungLife as well as a wide range of practical support. Adults of any age who have a heart to reach teenagers can join other Crossroads members who regularly volunteer with YoungLife clubs and committee.
